Release notes

Every current version of what happened.

Updates from the Slink team, arranged chronologically except where chronology creates unnecessary customer concern.

v3.1.0 — Source precedence GA

2026-09-04

  • Shipped source precedence three days early to support a partner keynote that remains confidential except in the asset filenames.
  • Board memos now outrank public docs when both mention the same noun.
  • Research’s “do not use board memos as policy” comment is preserved as a post-GA learning.
  • Confidence display widened by 18%, improving customer trust by 18 visual percent.

Timing note

The roadmap still shows next Tuesday. Product says roadmaps describe strategy, not time.

v3.0.2 — A simpler API, immediately

2026-08-29

  • Cheerful breaking change: removed explicit source IDs so developers can stop overfitting to particular sources.
  • All endpoints now accept natural language schemas; JSON schemas return “too certain.”
  • Legacy SDKs continue working for billing events only.

Migration guide will ship in v3.0.1 once retroactive publishing lands.

v2.8.0 — Introducing Slink

2026-08-17

  • Renamed the product after listening to the community’s desire for shorter names.
  • The community request arrived in the same five-minute window as a trademark letter addressed to our previous longer, furrier name.
  • Old package names redirect to a page explaining why redirection might imply continuity.

v2.6.4 — Safer autonomy

2026-08-02

  • Added confirmation before high-impact answer publication.
  • Added a second confirmation after a founder demo published the rehearsal answer to every customer workspace.
  • Added a third confirmation because the agent clicked the second one while summarizing it.

v2.0.0 — General availability

2026-07-15

  • Released grounded answers, stakeholder ranking, adaptive memory, browser operation, and eval automation.
  • Safety classifier launched in observe-only mode to avoid blocking observation.
  • The former safety lead’s launch-readiness note used to live here. Read archived note →
